Creating unique wall murals

Faux finish, Private Home, Wall mural No Comments

We can create a unique wall mural from just about anything. We’ve created  beautiful and unique murals from photographs, verbal descriptions, stick-figure drawings, etc. Take this project for example; we spoke with our client who verbally gave us an idea of what she wanted using her favorite flowers and plants.

After our client described what she was looking for, we sketched out an image of it.

We began painting the floral arrangement mural on her dining room wall, starting at the base.

You can see that flowers and plants are being added based on the sketch (taped to the wall).

Here's a picture of the finished project. The wall mural matches floral arrangements she has in her home.

So, don’t be held back by lack of pictures or drawings. We can sketch out your ideas and start painting from there! You can contact us by submitting the contact form on our website. Let’s create something amazing together!

“Landing Mallards”

These photos show just one small part of a wall in an entire large family room that was a mural of soft grays and browns. The challenge was to make the small area by the doorway interesting too.

The mallards were sketched over a painted soft background and river, then began painting in the leafless trees.

More small trees and many branches were added.

Now the mallards arrive! Beautiful!

Entryway mural & faux finish

This project consisted of dressing up the entrance to the Marilyn E. Thomas Center – Head Start Program. Each of the classrooms had its own theme and this one was “Sea World.” The determined problem was a line all along the wall because the children leaned against it, scraped their back packs against it, drug their little hands along it, etc. Once we completed the project, you can barely see the “line” even after the first coat of primer.

The solution was to sponge paint the bottom in shades of gray, so that it doesn’t matter what the kids do – it won’t show. Next, we divided the space up into “windows” for the various underwater scenes. We’ve included a close-up of the dolphins from one of the “windows.” Let us know what you think!
